Our feet are under a very heavy pressure upon each step we take. Many of us suffer from different kinds of foot problems. The common disorders are:
- Dry and cracked skin (callous) : When the body weight is unevenly distributed, certain skin areas are under excessive pressure and friction, causing skin in these areas to develop a very thick horny layer which tends to dry and crack.
- Infections: The foot is kept shut in the shoe for many hours closed and unventilated. This condition encourages fungi and bacteria infection characterized by itching, occurrence of blistering and unpleasant odors.
- Foot perspiration: Some individuals suffer from excessive sweating of the foot soles (and often the hand palms). This causes an unpleasant feel and encourages infections.
